Make That Melody Swing

Have a favorite swing tune that you enjoy playing? Does that melody
seem to be missing some "pizzazz?" Actually, you're not alone.
This is a topic that gets asked about often in a few different ways:

"How do I get my melody to swing?"

"How can I make my eighth-note improvisations swing more?"

"I know the melody well but it lacks something
I hear in the playing of others. What can I do?"

This video session was created with you in mind!
Enjoy making that melody swing!

Actually, this video session is for anyone (at any skill level) who can relate
to these questions. Even advanced classical players wanting to learn
how to "swing it" can benefit from these simple techniques.

It's one thing to be able to read a melody and play what is written. It's quite another
to make it "swing." If this is a challenge for you, this session will help.

We will be using a segment of Billy Strayhorn's "Take The A Train" to demonstrate
these concepts but you are invited to apply what is learned to your own personal favorites.
I had a lot of fun creating this session and look forward to having you join me...
